more I think about this.. the aftermarket duraspark ignition components are the weakest link in my Jeep performance..
what is a better more reliable ignition system.. the HEI or MSD?
do they even make the mallory ones anymore?
In theory I could make a harness for the Unilite and leave duraspark in place....

I'm currently running the big cap...
Chose the motocraft due to parts availability and reliability... Kinda ironic.

from a little research I found out that distrib gears when offered from AMC where not drilled all the way through.. since this has a through hole am I expected to open up the hole in the distrib...

the matched distrib and cam gear set I purchased is a bit askew..
distrib gear not drilled correctly, wont go on shaft...
is there something I'm missing?

ok, so big issue with the pickup is a MINIMUM... it can be higher....
i guess i was worried there was a sweet spot range to be in.
pickup and pan question....
with a trasdapt slam guard pan and a milodon pickup tube do i have any clearance issues i should be mindful of?
everything seemed to dry fit together quite well......
correct me if I’m wrong, but per the 73 FSM the timing cover only has 4 bolts...
the water pump I’m assuming has through bolts that go into the block as well? The FSM doesn’t show a good picture of...
I’m sure it’s been asked...
is there a diagram anywhere that shoes what length timing cover/water pump bolts go where?
I’m starting from scratch with a new everything including stainless bolts......
intake baffle cleaned, mangled and riveted into place...

Is the stock manifold oil baffle an easy fit on the edelbrock or is this something I will have to work at...
I have a new set of dowels for the timing cover when the real one goes on..
I was planning on just using some spray tack with the timing cover and oil pan.. RTV or Hylomar in the corners..
