just dropping by to show off some toys (I'm in Seattle)
'79 DJ5-G Ice Cream truck with Audi 2.0L (same motor used by AMC in the Gremlin and VW also. Porsche used it in the 924 and 924 Turbo) with 904 auto. I was going to do a VW diesel swap, but my wife hates it.
'80 AMC Eagle wagon (just got it. Sat 10 years and it stinks inside! Going to be a winter beater)
'87 Comanche
'86 Comanche (for sale)
'73 J4000 (RIP as I rolled it last year. 304 lives on in the '76 J10)
'76 J10 6 1/2' shortbox (going to stepside soon) with J20 axles (soon to be 5th wheel hauler)
'83 J10 8' longbox (258/AW4/NP208 almost done. Needs crossbar and shifter to be drivable again)
'84 J10 7' "monster" truck
'81 AMC Spirit daily driver (soon to get AW4 and EFI)
LOL reminds me of an old DJ I had with a FROZEN audi motor. They were only used in DJ's as far as AMC was concerned I havent heard of any other AMC with the 150CI Audi
The 150 was the GM Iron Dookie motor. The Audi motor was 2.0L aka 121 cu inch. The Audi motor was also used in '77/78 Gremlins and '78/79 Concords. European VW Jettas used the same motor and a few grey market Audis came here with it too.
He he he I seriously cant remember any Gremmies having that motor. I cant believe they would use that pile in a gremmy. ...sad. The postal jeep that I had with a Audi was a DJ-5g. I dont know if there were any later models like a DJ-5h or DJ-5i. Any info on that?
That was the last of the DJ5 series. Next was the few DJ7s and then they went to AMG as a separate company when Renault got in with AMC (They had to spin it off because of the US Gov't Humvee contracts)
